Here are the top three stories today in Jackson:

1. A teen was shot and killed while sitting inside a car in Jackson. A 14-year-old and three other minors were sitting in a car at the Eagle Gas Station. The 14-year-old died of his injuries, but the other minors' conditions are currently unknown. (WJTV)
2. Controversial charter school regulations that were approved last month could still be improved. These regulations are the first to be reworked since their implementation in 2013. However, a charter advocate thinks there is still time for them to be changed. (Northside Sun)
3. JPD identified the man charged for killing a woman at a Jackson hotel. Clyde Hawkins shot a woman at the Economy Inn on Wednesday and was arrested. Police say the crime was interpersonal, as it seems the man and woman knew each other. (WAPT Jackson)
