Here are the top three stories in Jackson today:

  1. Jackson Public Schools have partnered with cyber-professionals and implemented prevention measures after a 2020 cyberattack. The attackers attempted to encrypt files and have the district pay a ransom for their return. The school, however, was able to recover the files without the payment. (WJTV)
  2. The city of Jackson joined The Mississippi Women's Economic Security Initiative. A letter was sent to the legislature calling for the passage of equal pay protection legislation. (Press Release Desk)
  3. Over 1,500 Mississippi households will receive $1K this week from MDHS. The money is emergency financial assistance and is made possible by the authorization of the American Rescue Plan Act. (WLBT)
