Here are the top three stories in Jackson today:
- A Jackson native graduated JSU years after losing her sight and has a vision of helping others who have experienced situations similar to hers. While at JSU she interned at the G.V. Veteran Affairs Medical Center in the Department of Recreation Therapy. Her time there made her want to work in rehabilitation after she graduated. (WLBT)
- Jackson leaders want aid from the state and federal agencies to curb crime in the city. The Jackson City Council President is contacting law enforcement agencies, and the Police Department Chief is calling on Capitol police to increase effective patrol in their areas. (WJTV)
- A man was arrested for burglary at a Jackson convenience store on Tuesday morning. Anthony Bailey was taken to the University of Mississippi Medical Center to treat cuts he sustained at the store, then he was taken to the police department. (WJTV)

- The Jackson Fire Department is still collecting toy donations for their Toy Drive. Donations can be dropped off at any of the 21 fire stations in Jackson. (Facebook)
- The Mississippi Animal Rescue League thanked veterinarian Dr. Coward and wished him an enjoyable retirement. Dr. Coward worked at Pinewview Animal Hospital and had been a great help at MARL. (Facebook)
- Mississippi Market Co-op is reminding all LIME member-owners to renew their eligibility in the program by Jan. 26, 2022 to ensure uninterrupted discounts.
