Here are the top three stories in Jackson today:
- Mississippi Move and other organizations came together to help the homeless in Jackson. At Pittman park, they passed out food, checked people's blood pressure, and gave away essential items for the cold weather. (WAPT Jackson)
- Jackson's seventh annual Indie Music Week kicked off on Sunday. The event will last until Jan. 16, featuring an array of talent. There will be panels, social events, and time to honor trailblazers who made their mark in the music industry. (WAPT Jackson)
- Mayor Chokwe Antar Lumumba joined the ribbon-cutting ceremony for a new gym in Jackson. A co-owner of Xplicit J3 Fitness said the facility is one of the only corporate, minority-owned gyms in Mississippi. The gym offers classes such as Zumba, yoga, spin, and bootcamp. (WJTV)
