Here are the top three stories today in Jackson:
- The King Edward – Hilton Garden Inn and the Jobs for Jacksonians program have partnered to host a job fair. The fair will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Mar. 9 at King Edward – Hilton Garden Inn located at 235 West Capitol Street. Recruiters are looking to hire a general assistant manager, guest service agents, a chief engineer, and more. (WJTV)
- The cause of a fire that destroyed a southwest Jackson home is currently under investigation. The fire was reported at around 5:30 a.m. Tuesday at the 2900 block of Greenview Drive, off McDowell Road. According to a Jackson fire official, the fire destroyed most of the structure of the house, making it a total loss. There was no one home at the time of the fire. (WAPT Jackson)
- A Silver Alert has been issued for Kawanna Jenkins, 53, of Jackson. Jenkins is 5'3", weighs about 130 pounds, and has brown hair and brown eyes. Jenkins was last seen Tuesday, Feb. 22 on Valley North Boulevard, wearing black tights and a blue sweater. She is believed to be in a 2014 white Acura SLX with a Mississippi tag. Family members say Jenkins has a medical disorder that may affect her judgment. (WLBT)
