- The U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Region Fugitive Task Force has arrested Keshun Chambers who was wanted on several charges in the Jackson metro area. Police say the charges against Chambers include fleeing an officer, possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of controlled substance with intent to distribute, and tampering with physical evidence from events on Jan. 26. Police say he was also wanted for several carjackings. (WJTV)
- Mockingbird Cannabis LLC has announced that it is building a facility in Hinds County. The announcement comes after Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves signed a medical marijuana law legalizing cannabis use for some health conditions. The building is expected to open in late April or May, and will be used to grow and create medical marijuana products, the company says. (The Commercial Dispatch)
- The City of Jackson is hosting a "Roll-Off Dumpster Day" today (Feb. 12) at the Old Pepsi Building on Medgar Evers Boulevard. From 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Jackson residents can bring all household furniture, small appliances, and accessories for disposal. Tires, chemicals, and gas tanks will not be accepted. (City of Jackson)
