Here are the top stories in Jackson today:
- The Clinton Public School District superintendent announced Thursday that masks will continue to be required at schools through the first week of October. Superintendent Andy Schoggin said the district will continue following guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Mississippi State Department of Health. The district will review the mask requirements by Oct. 8 to determine next steps. (Clarion Ledger)
- A Jackson organization has received $100,000 for violence intervention programs. Operation Good Cure Violence Program has been awarded the grant by the Everytown for Gun Safety Support Fund. This is part of the first round of grant funding which is a new initiative dedicated to supporting community-based violence intervention programs. (WJTV)
