Here are the top three stories today in Jackson:
- Broadcasters from across the state gathered in downtown Jackson for the Mississippi Association of Broadcasters Awards Gala. The event occurred at the Old Capitol Inn and featured various different news mediums. Awards were given out for numerous different categories such as breaking news, breaking weather, and investigative reporting. (WJTV)
- The City of Jackson Water/Utilities Division has issued a boil water notice for roughly 30 residents. Neighbors on Wayneland Drive have been notified to boil water before using it for consumption. The notice will reportedly be lifted when the division deems the water to be safe again. (WJTV)
- A man has been pronounced dead after suddenly crashing his vehicle into a Jackson apartment complex. Witnesses were surprised when the vehicle rammed into the building Friday night. The Hinds County Corner reports that Marcus Smith, 37-years-old, passed away after the incident and has not confirmed the cause of the wreck. (WAPT Jackson)
