Here are the top stories today in Jackson:

  1. Two Mississippi Museums will host a Veterans Day ceremony to honor Mississippians who served in the United States Armed Forces. They are partnering with Daughters of the American Revolution, Mississippi Veterans Affairs, and the Mississippi War Veterans Memorial Commission. The ceremony will take place on Nov. 10 starting at 10:30 a.m. (WJTV)
  2. The Mississippi Department of Human Service (MDHS) is celebrating caregivers by highlighting key programs, the Mississippi Family Caregiver Support Program and the Lifespan Respite Program. The theme this year is "Caregiving Around the Clock." MDHS provides self-care, advocacy, and destressing resources for caregivers. (WLBT)
  3. A Lyft driver was carjacked in Byram and shot 7 times. The driver says she's alive by the "grace of God." (WAPT Jackson)
  4. A Jackson firefighter found a dead body while fighting a house fire, and it's presumed the man died from injuries related to the fire. (WLBT)
  5. The Richardson Light Show in Madison has been canceled for the second year in a row due to road construction. (Clarion Ledger)
