Here are the top three stories in Jackson today:

  1. On Sunday, Mar. 6, the Jackson Revival Center Church sponsored an event to support the homeless community of downtown Jackson. The event, called "A New Season," provided mobile showers, free clothes and food, health screenings, and more to those in need. Volunteers were present to assess the needs of attendees, which will be considered in future partnerships between the Church and community organizations to help the homeless. (WLBT)
  2. Gas prices nationwide continue to soar amid the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict, and Jackson's pumps are no exception. Average prices have risen 52.3 cents per gallon in the last week, and 66.9 cents per gallon higher than this time last month, for an average of $3.75 per gallon. According to Patrick De Hann, head of petroleum analysis at Gas Buddy, "Americans will be feeling the pain of the rise in prices for quite some time, with little good news foreseen." (WLBT)
