- Josh Casaus was killed in a shooting at the Olive Tree Hotel in Jackson. The suspect, Dishawn Sanders, fired at officers when they arrived, and in return they fired back, killing the suspect. The motive has not yet been determined. (WAPT Jackson)
- Three houses caught fire in a Madison subdivision on Saturday. Firefighters arrived on the scene to find one house was destroyed and two others suffered heat damage. There were no injuries. (WLBT)
- Make-A-Wish Mississippi granted a young man's wish to feed the homeless at Poindexter Park in Jackson. (WAPT Jackson)
- Jackson's Mayor Lumumba discussed changes in garbage collection and rates, as well as the future of waste management in the city. (Clarion Ledger)
- A former sheriff and a former chief deputy are refuting Sheriff Marshand Crisler's claims on the inmate transfer policy at the Raymond Detention Center. (WLBT)
