Here are the top three stories today in Jackson:
- A Rankin County sheriff is investigating after a woman received a scary alert on her iPhone. The alert stated that "an unknown device is detected tracking your movement for a while." The sheriff's department did not find the Apple AirTag they expected to find, but Apple Support was able to delete the device and make adjustments to the woman's phone so she wasn't being tracked anymore. (WAPT Jackson)
- Two shelters are open in the Jackson area due to freezing temperatures. The Billy Brunfield Homeless Shelter and the Opportunity Center provide shelter, blankets, food, and other essentials to the homeless. (WJTV)
- Jackson crews are on the lookout for broken water pipes after the recent cold snap. According to a city engineer, there are a lot of underground pipes that need replacing. Jackson residents should insulate outside or exposed pipes and faucets to help during freezing temperatures. (WAPT Jackson)
