First, today's weather:

Here are the top stories in Jackson today:

  1. A 25-year-old died after driving to the hospital with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim, Mel Groves, a transgender man, collapsed as they were getting out of the car at Merit Health Hospital where they later died. Police are still trying to determine where the shooting took place and a possible suspect. (Clarion Ledger)
  2. One person was injured when shots were fired and their vehicle crashed into parked vehicles on Capitol Street. The man who was shot was taken to the hospital, but no additional information on the man was released. There have not been arrests made, as police are continuing to investigate. (WAPT Jackson)
  3. Park After Dark will be held on Oct. 29 at the Mississippi Children's Museum and the Mississippi Museum of Natural Sciences in Jackson. (WJTV)
  4. 'A Day Without Immigrants' march was held in Jackson to demand that Democrats and the Biden Administration keep their promise of granting citizenship to undocumented immigrants. (WJTV)
  5. Southwest Airlines cancellations due to scheduling changes had some impact on Jackson airport travelers. (Clarion Ledger)
