- Ali Velshi traveled to Tougaloo College in Jackson to talk with students and teachers about the impact of misconceptions and untruths in U.S. history. "Velshi Across America" features Missouri locals who discussed how textbooks were adopted by the views of white people and filtered out a ton of Black history. They also shared that a lot of "heroes" that were highlighted throughout history classes were not actually seen as heroes to people other than those who were white. (MSNBC)
- Jackson residents will get to enjoy the bounty of the fall harvest. A sweet potato giveaway took place in the city on Sunday afternoon. 5,800 pounds of sweet potatoes were given away at the corner of Watkins and Forest Avenue. (WJTV)
