• LEMA Public Safety Divers cut search times with new sonar (meridianstar.com) — Public safety divers from Lauderdale County and the Meridian Fire Department are training at Bonita Lakes with new sonar gear that sharply cuts search times in local waters. Using Garmin live scopes, new trolling motors, and Humminbird sonar, the team can now guide divers within feet of a drowning victim or object, improving response for rare but critical emergencies around Meridian.
   

• Braden Forsyth Activated off Injured List (oursportscentral.com) — Mississippi Mud Monsters pitcher Braden Forsyth is back from the injured list, giving the bullpen a boost as the team wraps its Washington series and heads to Canada. The Coldwater native's path ran through Meridian Community College in Meridian, where he piled up strikeouts before moving on to Ole Miss and other NCAA programs.
