• Meridian Woman Bettina Johnson Reported Missing in West Virginia (queencitynewsfeed.com) — A woman with strong ties to Meridian, 42-year-old Bettina Johnson, has been reported missing after traveling to Martinsburg, West Virginia, and her family is urgently asking for help from back home. She was last seen near a Long John Silver's and Exxon on August 26 and is described as 5'8", about 170 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes, last wearing all black. Anyone with information is asked to call or text 601-462-1365, even if it seems minor.
   

• Meridian school safety officer wins statewide award (meridianstar.com) — Meridian Public School District's own James Miles has been named Mississippi's School Safety Officer of the Year, beating out candidates from larger districts statewide. After three years with MPSD, Miles is praised for his work ethic, campus security role, and positive impact on students and staff, and says the honor motivates him to keep raising the bar.
   

• Quinn Alexander Joins WUSJ For Mornings (radioinsight.com) — Morning radio listeners in Meridian will soon notice a change as 97OKK host Quinn Alexander leaves town to co-host mornings on US 96.3 in the Jackson area starting September 1. Alexander, who's been on Meridian airwaves for about 20 months, shared that he's excited for the move and asked listeners to keep his new on-air partner, Traci Lee, in their thoughts.
