“This is a good learning experience,” said Camryn Brewer, a third-semester ADN student
from Collinsville. Fellow nursing student Caroline Presley agreed, adding that it’s
a unique situation.
“It’s also really cool knowing that someday our grandkids are going to read about
this in a history book. We just like to help,” the Butler, Ala., resident said.

MCC again partnered with Rush Health System offering the Pfizer vaccinations to campus
and community. Some 50 people took advantage of the free vaccination event.
And one of those getting her first COVID-19 vaccination dose was Presley; classmate
Brewer administered the dose while supervised by ADN Instructor Kristy Dickerson.
“I didn’t feel that at all,” Presley said. “That’s not bad.”
Those who participated and received their first dose in the Thursday, Oct. 28, event
should return to the Dulaney Center Parking Lot on Thursday, Nov. 18, from 9 a.m.
to 2 p.m. to get their second dose.
For more information about the vaccination session, contact Deanna Smith, dean of
