“Data reliability, the importance of data reliability – without it we will not see
the whole picture of MCC,” he said.
Boles, an alumnus of the College, holds an associate of applied science in Computer
Networking. And in his current position – a post he’s held since the beginning of
the year – he manages Banner, the software that helps the College record and maintain
information and data for students, employees, alumni, and donors.

“Each day is different,” Boles said about his job. “Every day, there are new requests,
new opportunities to learn.”
Boles said his first job was working a web three, setting up computer networks around
the state. What led to his path to MCC occurred by happenstance. “While working with
Purvis Business, I was working on a copier and had a chance encounter with Phillip
Brooks, who told me that MCC was looking to hire someone for the Helpdesk position.”
Boles worked at the College for a while but left MCC. He returned to his alma mater
in January after working with Ellucian and a competitor institution for a number of
years.
