• Olive Branch Citizens Police Academy Meets K-9s, SWAT (desotocountynews.com) — Olive Branch residents in the Citizens Police Academy recently met K-9 teams, drone operators, and SWAT members for an inside look at how their police department handles dangerous situations. The free fall program walks locals through different divisions each week, building trust and understanding. Interested residents can watch the Olive Branch Police Department's Facebook page or contact the department about future classes.
   

• Lake Cormorant sweeps Olive Branch; Center Hill, DeSoto Central also win in three (desotocountynews.com) — Olive Branch volleyball fell 3–0 on the road to Lake Cormorant in district play, while several other DeSoto County teams also swept their opponents. Center Hill and DeSoto Central earned straight-set wins, and Horn Lake lost to Tupelo. Results from Southaven, Hernando, Lewisburg, and Northpoint Christian matches are still pending and will be reported later.
   

• DeSoto County Students Can Apply for Governor's School (desotocountynews.com) — Olive Branch sophomores and juniors in DeSoto County Schools can apply now for Mississippi Governor's School, a free two-week residential honors program offering college credit and leadership experiences next June. The district urges students to start the multi-part application early, ahead of the Nov. 1 deadline. Counselors and teachers can help students secure recommendations before fall break.
