Transgender Teen Killed: Thayer Man Denies Hiding Burned Remains
Grigsby is accused of hiding what appeared to be burnt human remains after the killing.

HOUSTON, MO — A Thayer, Missouri, man pleaded not guilty hiding the burnt human remains of slain transgender teen Ally Lee Steinfeld.
James Thomas Grigsby, 22, pleaded not guilty to abandonment of a corpse and tampering with evidence, the West Plains Daily Quill reported. He entered the plea after waiving formal arraignment Tuesday. Three others were charged with first-degree murder in the 17-year-old Steinfeld's death.
Authorities identified the teen by her birth name, Joseph Matthew Steinfeld Jr., after her remains were found last month in Cabool, near the mobile home of one of the suspects. Her eyes were gouged out and she was stabbed in the genitals, court records said.
