Gwendolyn Mercer learned Monday that she was the winner in Vantage Credit Union’s Young & Free Debit Card Design Challenge. Mercer’s debit card design, titled ‘Traffic,’ was one of 62 entries that were posted to the Young & Free website during the challenge timeframe.
Applicants were asked for an original debit card design that reflected what being Young & Free in St. Louis meant to them. Entrants had a chance to win three great cash prizes as well as the ultimate opportunity—to have their design used by the credit union for an actual Young & Free Debit Card.
Candis Sprawl won second place, which was a check for $200; and Matthew Bell won third place, a check for $100. Mercer and Bell received their prizes at the Bridgeton branch of Vantage Credit Union Monday afternoon. Prizes were presented by Young & Free spokesperson, Jenn Cloud.
