Cor Jesu Students Hit the High Notes at St. Louis Solo/Ensemble Festival

Cor Jesu Academy students hit the high notes, when they earned Superior “I” ratings at the St. Louis Solo/Ensemble Festival that was held on Saturday, March 2, 2013, at Florissant Valley Community College. Directed by Cor Jesu Music Director Kathleen Pottinger, the students were awarded a superior rating for performances that were “worthy of the distinction of being recognized as among the very best for the event and the class of participants being judged,” according to the MSHSAA rating description.

Congratulations to the following students for their solo performances in voice and piano:

Tess Martin: Piano, Lauren Miller, Claire Peterson, Julia Pottinger, Kathleen Reschke: Piano, and Sarah Freitag

Girls Double Quartet: Lauren Miller, Caroline Gallaher, Mary Schaefer, Allison Stumpf, Lisa Millar, Caroline Parker, Julie Amuedo and Helena Madden

Girls Double Quartet: Emily Boschert, Julia Pottinger, Megan Reschke, Olivia Fernandez, Courtney Keady, Kathyrn Kohnen, Anna Cruzen and Shannon Hess.

The following students each received Excellent “II” ratings for their solo “performances of distinctive quality, reflecting more secure fundamental techniques, and a stronger musical effect than the III.” The students include:

Rachel Clemens, Paige Grasso, Sarah Ferretti, Emily Boschert, Allison Stumpf IIMary Julia Kramer, Emma Gambaro, Annie Gardner and Kathryn Kohnen.

The following ensembles also received Excellent “II” ratings:

Girls Sextet: Bridget Mess, Claire Peterson, Mary Julia Kramer, Ellie Rupp, Tess Martin, Sarah Ferretti

 

Girls Sextet: Rachel Clemens, Claire Trebing, Alli Fossell, Emma Gambaro, Annie Gardner, Claire Elliot
