Seven Cor Jesu Academy seniors have been named 2012 National Merit Semifinalists: Christina Belt, Mary Burke, Julia Esswein, Emily McGowan, Claire Mullaney, Caitlyn Slattery and Kristen Wacker.
The National Merit Scholarship has announced the names of approximately 16,000 Semifinalists in the 56th National Merit Scholarship Program. The nationwide pool of Semifinalists, which represents less than one percent of the U.S. high school seniors, includes the highest-scoring entrants in each state. These academically talented high school seniors have an opportunity to continue in the competition for 8,400 National Merit Scholarships, worth more than $35million that will be offered next spring.
