Verizon Wireless Tips to Help Spring Ahead

Recent snow storms will give way to warmer temperatures for some this weekend as winter winds down just in time for another rite of the coming spring – the switch to daylight saving time on Sunday, March 10.

The spring forward means moving your clocks ahead one hour either late Saturday night or early Sunday morning. (The official change is at 2 a.m. Sunday)  Your Verizon Wireless mobile device will automatically update when the change goes into effect; however, it might not be as easy for you to adjust.  With the right apps and tips from Verizon Wireless, you can make the change without missing a step.

The shift to daylight saving time can throw off your body’s internal clock. Experts suggest altering what time you go to bed and wake up in the days leading up to the time change to make the transition easier. If you’re having trouble sleeping after springing forward, the Relax and Sleep app can help you catch some Zs. The app features 35 ambient sounds to help with relaxation and falling asleep.

Take advantage of the extra hour with outdoor activities such as exercising. Outside exercise has many benefits, including burning more calories, cutting the risk of heart disease, and boosting your body’s vitamin D levels. Use the Fitbit Zip Wireless Activity Tracker to tally distance, steps and calories burned, and then view the information to monitor your progress and set goals.

With more daylight at your disposal you might pack more activities into your schedule. Apps like Schedule Planner allow you to instantly view, edit and add items your daily schedule to structure your time efficiently. To stay organized, Windows 8 smartphones feature live tiles on the start screen so you can easily access apps and tools that you frequently use.
