Attorney Files to Have Dasher Murder Case Dismissed
Police say Shelby Dasher, 20, confessed to the beating death of her one-year-old son.

The Shelby Dasher murder case saw a new twist Monday, as the public defender for the 20-year-old filed to have the second-degree murder case dismissed, or, barring that, to have the $500,000 bail reduced.
Dasher, of Affton, because he wouldn't stop crying, then dumping the body at the edge of a cemetary near River Des Peres and faking his abduction. When she reported him missing the next morning, . But the efforts ended in tragedy when passersby found the child's body less than a mile from Dasher's house at 7730 Clevedon St.
Dasher's public defender, Tara Crane, told STLToday that the prosecution should not continue to keep Dasher in jail if they do not proceed with the case in a timely manner. Dasher has been in jail since her arrest on Nov. 16.

Police say Dasher confessed, but her attorney filed a 'not guilty' plea when she was arraigned. There is a prelimary hearing on the trial scheduled for Thursday, but it has been twice delayed. She has not yet appeared before a grand jury.
