Bayless Elementary Teacher Wins Peabody Leaders in Education Award
Staci Pruitt has been honored with a $1,000 grant from Peabody Energy.
second-grade teacher Staci Pruitt is a 2010-2011 Peabody Energy Leaders in Education honoree.
"Every child is a lifelong learner," Pruitt said on the award website. "It is my job to provide a safe environment for them to learn. I teach my students respect and acceptance of their culturally diverse friends."
Pruitt was honored at a dinner in the Ballpark Hilton in St. Louis and was congratulated by Gov. Jay Nixon.

Along with the award, Pruitt received a $1,000 grant to use at her discretion.
