New bikes,...maybe

Good Morning,

Last March I decided to get my girls new bikes. Bikes, helmets, the whole enchilata so to speak. Well, it was not so easy as I thought. I announced my decision with pride to my two delightful teenagers, who immediately told me that riding bikes is cool unless they had to wear a helmet. Well, in the Winkelwoman household, you either wear a helmet, or you don't ride, period.

So here it is the beginning of July and I can't get either one of them to decide on what kind of bike they want, much less the color.  And with one of them going to High School, you would think I was labeling them with a sign that said, I HAVE TO DO WHAT MY MOM SAYS OR ELSE!

So, how do I handle this? Well, I have made an executive desicion and when we get home from vacation in August, there will be two new bikes and helmets waiting for them. No fighting, no arguing, no input period! I pick the kind of bike, I pick the color, I pick the helmets.

Life is hard.
