School Days

Math was not my strength.

School is wrapping up and the long-awaited summer is just around the corner. I was waxing nostalgic amidst memories of school days. Some memories are good and some are less than good. I illustrated this scene to grasp a bit of both. Most of us have a particular odd moment that we instantly recall and often retell. Many of us have moments we would like to forget. For me those are the dreaded minutes (hours) standing at the blackboard befuddled by math problems. Math was not my strength. Solving math in public was torture. I know I never actually did what this kid did, but I definitely would have had the comedic sense to do it. Finding the solution to the problem would have been tough for me, finding a humorous twist would have flowed forth like water. The sure outcome of such a witty foray would have been the same fate suffered by this miscreant; a trip to the principal's office. So I contented myself to stand silent until the exasperated teacher gave up all hope of turning this future cartoonist into a calculator. I think things worked out alright, but don't let me do your taxes. Enjoy.
