The Affton Fire Protection District's Newest Employee
The Affton Fire Protection District welcomes Dan Grossenheider as its newest employee.

The Affton Fire Protection District welcomes Dan Grossenheider as its newest employee.
Dan is a firefighter/paramedic with 3 years of experience with Abbott Ambulance Service and 2 years with Christian Hospital EMS. "I've always wanted to work at Affton," Dan says, "It's a small district with a 'family' atmosphere but still offers plenty of opportunities to get the training you want and need to grow as an employee. The standards and qualifications are high and, because of the call volume, you get the experience in one year that would take five or more years to get in other districts."
Dan started his employment September 9th and is currently in the third tier of the district's orientation program. His immediate supervisor, Captain Steve Davila, said, "Dan Grossenheider is a great addition to our crew and to the district. Dan has the ability to make a whole room crack up with a quiet comment and then smoothly transition into operating in the most difficult emergency situations. He fits in perfectly!"

Dan comes from a large family of firefighters. With a father at Crestwood Fire Department, a brother at Webster Groves Fire Department and another brother at Florissant Valley Fire Protection District. Like so many other St Louis City and County firefighters he is carrying on the family tradition.
Stop and say, "Hi" to Dan if you see him around!
