For those who wonder what an illustrator does all day, here is one example from my work load. This cover illustration was done earlier this year for a book about blended families. The book We're Not Blended, We're Pureed by Marty C. Lintvedt and Diana Lesire Brandmeyer is published by Concordia Publishing House and will be in stores soon. The type on the cover was done by Concordia senior designer Lesley Rusick, who contacted me to paint the the blender house and its neighborhood. As with most of my work, this art was done in Corel Painter on my trusty Wacom tablet.
My niche is kids illustration and humorous illustration for grown-ups. This cover falls into the grown-up category, and yet still allowed for a lot of fun. So basically what I do all day is have fun, in a hard work, deadline making, client pleasing sort of way. But it is fun.
