Veterns Festival at Forest Park included one of our Affton Teachers

Veteran's Festival in Forest Park.

This past weekend while I was in Forest Park photographing one of my High School Senior portrait sessions I noticed an event going on.  I decided that after I finished my session I would go to see what was going on.

One of the first people I stopped to talk with is one of Affton's history teachers.  His name is Frank Aufmuth and he and his son, Xavier Aufmuth, who attends Affton High School, were portraying the Confederate soldiers of Co. D a.k.a. the St. Louis Grays, 1st Missouri Infantry Regiment which was from St. Louis. Their impression was based on uniform and equipment they had just prior to the Vicksburg campaign in 1863.  They call theselves " the group" the Cottonmouth Videttes.

There were many other groups and booths to see as documented in the images.
