What's a Little More Water?

Water main breaks causing flooding at the entrance to the Indian Hills Subdivision.

I was on my way home from a photo session this morning and this is what I encountered as I tried to enter my subdivision. Of course I had to grab the camera and get the shots.

I talked with the homeowner whose backyard was becoming a mud pit. She had 2 little pups in the back yard, but they were smart enough to stay out of the water.

I was concerned that the water bubbling up by the pole with the electric lines would become a problem, as the dirt from underground was washing away. Notice in the picture that it was already a leaning pole, and with this erosion I was worried.

Shortly after I arrived on the scene a police office arrived to stop traffic. I am sure that help was on the way now.

This was at the corner of Union and Big Chief in the Affton area.
