When My Kids Get into Trouble...
After being late 2 hours, I called the police to find my lost teenager.
Good Morning,
I know this maybe hard to believe, but sometimes my teenage girls get into trouble. Today, Tuesday, August 21, my daughter Prianna did not come home from school on time. She didn't get on the school bus and did not call me. I called one of her friends to ask if they knew where she might have gone. They told me they saw her go into the cemetary after school. Now this cemetary is not a short cut from school to our home. So I worried a little. An hour later, I was even more concerned. An hour after that, I called the police. Thank God for the Affton Police Department who sent a policeman to my home lickkety split. As he was asking me questions, who walks in the door but Prianna herself! Her first question was if I was all right. She thought the police were at our home because I was sick. She told me that she was walking home through the cemetary when she realized that she needed to finish some work at school and turned around and went back to school. Now this all sounds good except she hesitated when I asked her where she was at school to finish her work. She hesitated again when I asked if any teachers saw her there. You know, my kids are really good at some things but neither of them are good liars. And, it's a skill I hope they never achieve. And now in my home, there is a new consequence for scarring your mom. I guess the reason I am sharing this with you is that through all of this, I am the one left feeling a bit off center. Is this just the beginning? She has many more years of being a teenager. Am I up to the challenge? So either way, I have a whole lot more to pray about tonight and for years to come.
