Through its Community College Citizen’s Preparedness Program (3CP2), St. Louis Community College will conduct the Citizen's Emergency Preparedness Program, Thursday August 1st from 10am-12pm at the STLCC Meramec Student Center
This free training consists of two hours of instruction on threat awareness and assessment, sheltering and evacuation, and recovery and resources.
In fall 2012, STLCC was selected to participate in the 3CP2, which was designed by the Federal Emergency Management Agency in collaboration with the nation’s community colleges to make individuals aware of their responsibility to be prepared for a natural, man-made or technological event since emergency personnel will likely be delayed in responding. The need to improve the readiness of U.S. citizens is well documented. Recent events such as Hurricane Sandy are the latest reminders that emergencies can happen anywhere, to anyone, in any community. Research has shown that the more people who are prepared, the quicker the community will recover.
