18 International Baccalaureate Diploma Candidates

National Merit Finalists

Nine seniors have been named finalists in the 2012 competition for National Merit Scholarships. They are Brian Roth, William Iverson, Kyle Burkhart, Mariano Marin, Quin Rich, Kendall Helbert, Francesca Vacca, Kelly Weiss and Jacob Luciani.

Approximately 1.5 million students enter the National Merit Program each year by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT). Lindbergh’s nine finalists join the approximately 15,000 semifinalists nationwide who advanced to finalist standing in February.

IB Diploma Candidates

In addition, 18 seniors are completing work to become IB Diploma recipients upon their graduation in May. Students in the IB program must successfully complete six exams, a course in Theory of Knowledge, a 4,000-word essay, and a self-designed program of creativity, action and service.
