Lindbergh Overwhelms Winless Fox

Lindbergh capitalizes on some mistakes and hand Fox their third straight loss tonight.

Fox was hoping for their first conference victory tonight at home against Lindbergh, but the Flyers quickly dashed those hopes by dominating the Warriors from the opening kickoff.

Lindbergh pounded Fox by the lopsided score of 34-3.

Both teams started out slow in the first quarter. The Lindbergh Flyers, however, were able to draw first blood on a 10-yard pass from senior quarterback, Peter Simpson, to the talented sophomore running back, Garrett Krueger with only 2:30 left for the initial 7-0 score. Simpson then choreographed an 8-play, 70-yard drive which ended with a 2-yard run by Garrett's older brother, senior running back Grant at 9:51 of the 2nd quarter.

The only points achieved by Fox came at 6:02 of the secind quarter on a 22-yard field goal by senior kicker Nick Bartolotta, which cut Lindbergh's lead to 13-3.

The second half was all Lindbergh. The Flyers scored on a 15-yard run by junior running back Kevin Rogers with 46 seconds left in the third quarter. Senior running back Jordan Goodman contributed the last score of the night for Lindbergh on a three-yard run at 5:55 of the fourth quarter.

Fox was unable to establish any positive offensive drives either on the ground or through the air. Either its drives stalled, or inadvertent penalties would void gained yards.

Lindbergh is now 2-1 in Suburban West Conference play, and Fox falls to 0-3.
