Local St. Louis Sports Zone Recognized on Metromix.com
The Kenrick Plaza spot was recently nominated to the list of Best Sports Bars in St. Louis by restaurant review website.
If you’re hungry for some sports, and not to mention some delicious bar food, look no further than the located at 113 Kenrick Plaza in Shrewsbury. The St. Louis Sports Zone was recently a nominee on the Metromix.com “Best of St. Louis 2011” list for Best Sports Bars.
In case you are not familiar with Metromix.com, it is an online entertainment guide featuring where to go and what to do in cities throughout the country. Each year, Metromix.com lets community members tell them where the “best of” is in their city. Recently, St. Louisian’s voted on their favorite bars, restaurants, foods, coffee shops and more, and felt that St. Louis Sports Zone was a definite among the list.
“It is always exciting to be recognized. We take a lot of pride in it," said Rich Tomas, Marketing and Promotions Manager at St. Louis Sports Zone.

With over 7,500 square feet of restaurant and bar space, along with two fully stocked bars, it’s easy to see why this hot spot is heaven for any starving sports fanatic. The large space includes two private Rams and Blues party spaces where patrons can enjoy a game with friends while having their own personal waitress. Plus, the bar features a 3 season outdoor patio with TVs and has five 105" HDTV Projector Televisions and over 50 HD flat panel TVs inside.
In addition, the St. Louis Sports Zone is home to many alumni associations, including the University of Missouri - Columbia, Saint Louis University, Missouri State and University of Kansas. On any given game day you can find stellar deals and a bar packed with rowdy crowds and sports fanatics cheering on their teams and sometimes heckling others. As owner William Heydens said, “It’s better than being at the game.”

While the bar clearly offers an exciting atmosphere, the food is also tasty and affordable, that is if you can decide what to get. The extensive lunch, dinner and late-night menu features everything from appetizers, wraps, burgers, sandwiches, pizza and salad. The Sports Zone is also known for their happy hour drink and food specials, which they feature throughout the week.
In case you are in the mood to play a game, rather than watch one, St. Louis Sports Zone has got you covered. With billiards and darts, and some pretty awesome arcade games, like Big Buck Hunter and Golden Tee, you certainly won’t be bored. Not to mention, there is National Trivia Network (NTN) on 8 televisions for all those interested in using their noggins while nuzzling their beers.
