New Affton Bank Plans Neighborhood Cookout

The new location in Affton is holding a ribbon cutting ceremony with the at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday. They are also holding a cookout open to the community on Saturday.

The new full-service banking location opened on Dec. 19, and is located at 6800 S. Rock Hill Rd.

The cookout is open to the community and will serve as a meet and greet for residents to get to know the banking staff, lead by longtime area banking veteran Carrie Carrigan, who is the new bank's manager. The cookout is scheduled for Saturday and will be held in the parking lot of the new location from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

To celebrate its opening, Great Southern also donated $1,500 to the and will be collecting non-perishable canned food items for the pantry through the end of March.

“We are excited about our presence here in Affton and proud to be a member of the community,” said Carrigan. “We are looking forward to the opportunity to support local organizations, like the Affton Christian Food Pantry.”
