Now Open: Phase 5 Personal Training

You won't find any exercise machines at this studio, just free weights and smart workouts.

Walk into Phase 5 Personal Training at 8001 Mackenzie Road and you might be surprised to find a gym without any fancy machines. Garmenn Wong and Jaymes Askins created a studio where you use the best machine--your own body.

Their training is centered around how your body moves in its natural way. They combine body weight exercises, free weights, plyometrics and metabolic conditioning to get you in shape.

The gym opened on January 2.

Wong and Askins, both personal trainers, had been thinking of opening a new studio for a long time.

"We have trained at a local gym franchise for a few years and figured it was a good time to pursue our dream of owning our own personal training studio," Wong said.
