Police Blotter: Meat Robbery, Theft from Cars

The weekly crime summary from Feb. 24 to March 1, provided by the Shrewsbury Police Department and the Affton Precinct of the St. Louis County Police.

Thursday, Feb. 24

A man was arrested on charges of second-degree domestic assault after a fight with his adult brother in the 5000 block of Kempf Drive in Concord.

At 4:30 p.m. Shrewsbury police arrested a North St. Louis City man on charges of marijuana possession after a traffic stop on eastbound Interstate 44 near Shrewsbury Avenue. The man had an outstanding warrant from another police agency. Police say he falsely identified himself when stopped, so he was issued a citation for making a false declaration.

Shrewsbury police were called to Dierbergs, 7233 Watson Rd., at 8 p.m. and arrested a Webster Groves man on charges of stealing two bottles of whiskey valued at $36.28. He was issued a citation to appear in municipal court.

Saturday, Feb. 26

A black 2002 Chrysler Sebring with license plate number MA5L4Z was reported stolen from the 9100 block of Paul Revere Drive in Affton.

At 7 p.m. Shrewsbury police arrested a St. John man on charges of marijuana possession after a police officer conducted a suspicious person/vehicle check in the 7100 block of Murdoch Avenue. The man was issued a citation to appear in municipal court.

Sunday, Feb. 27

Shrewsbury police arrested a woman from Union and a man from South St. Louis City 5:40 p.m. on charges of stealing $94.74 worth of rib eye and porterhouse steaks from Dierbergs, 7233 Watson Rd. Police say they recovered meat from the pair that had been stolen from two other grocery stores as well.

A St. George resident on the 9900 block of Bunker Hill Drive reported that three parked vehicles had their catalytic converters cut off overnight.

Monday, Feb. 28

A woman in the 8800 block of Ivy Avenue in Affton reported that her ex-boyfriend damaged her vehicle and attempted to force her door open. Nothing was taken.

A laptop was reported stolen out of a vehicle parked on the 6100 block of Lindbergh Boulevard. The laptop had been left in view, and the glass window was shattered.

Tuesday, March 1

A purple 2005 Peterbilt semi truck with license plate 78AP4U was reported stolen in the 11400 block of Concord Village Avenue in Concord.

A pickup truck on the 4600 block of Oldenburg had its taillight assemblies removed while parked overnight.
