Shrewsbury Police Blotter: Bad Checks and Bad Drivers

Friday, October 14
Someone tossed a rock through the rear window of a parked Plymouth Breeze at 7700 Charing Square Lane at 3:45 p.m. There was nothing reported stolen from the vehicle. Police are interested in speaking to any witnesses to this incident.
A woman reported her purse stolen from her unlocked vehicle between 4:30 and 5:10 p.m. The victim told police she left her purse in her vehicle after she parked at a day care center and went inside to pick up her child. The incident took place in the 600 block of South Laclede Station Road. Police recommend not leaving valuables inside insecure vehicles, no matter how short the duration away from your vehicle.

Saturday, October 15
Police arrested a woman from Chesterfield for passing a bad check at Nordman Photography for $100 on March 29, 2011. The report of the incident was filed October 15.

Prior to October 15 at 4 p.m., a parked 2010 Buick was struck on the passenger side rear bumper in the 7600 block of Triwoods Drive. The vehicle that struck the Buick left the scene without exchanging insurance information.
Monday, October 17
Police arrested an Affton man for being intoxicated and causing an accident at 3:30 a.m. near the intersection of Laclede Station Road and Ravensridge Road. The Dodge Stratus driven by the suspect was in a ditch off of the side of the road when police arrived to investigate.
Police arrested a south St. Louis City man for driving his motorcycle on a sidewalk, possession of marijuana and for having outstanding warrants from another local police agency at 12 p.m. in the 7200 block of Lansdowne. Ave.
Wednesday, October 19
and two wallets, cash, loose change and a Garmin GPS device were reported stolen at 7 a.m. The incidents took place overnight at the following locations: 7300-7500 Nottingham Ave., 7200-7400 Brunswick Ave., 5100 Exeter Ave. and 4900 Verguene Ave. Police chased three subjects on foot south from the 7600 block of Kenrick Manor Drive at 4 a.m. and are providing extra patrols in the areas. Officers asked that citizens do not leave valuables inside vehicles and keep their doors locked.
