Shrewsbury Police Blotter: Overnight Hit-and-Runs

The following information was supplied by the Shrewsbury Police Department. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

Friday, November 18

Shrewsbury police investigated an attempted residential burglary in the 5100 block of Annette Avenue. Sometime after 7:30 a.m. and prior to 6:40 p.m., a screen door was pried open and several window screens were lifted from their closed position. There was no entry made into the residence and no property reported stolen.

Police searched for a Ford vehicle with front passenger-side damage that left the scene of an accident in the 7400 block of Lansdowne Avenue. There was a Ford headlight left behind at the accident scene that struck a parked 2007 Dodge Caravan, causing damage to the driver side of the van.

At 1:05 a.m. in the 7600 block of Big Bend Boulevard police arrested a woman from South St. Louis City on charges of failing to maintain a single lane, not having proof of insurance and driving while intoxicated after she failed field sobriety tests. The woman’s breath sample was measured at .064% and she was issued citations to appear in municipal court.

Tuesday, November 22

A street light pole was struck and knocked down in the 7400 block of Sutherland Avenue prior to 12:25 a.m. Due to vehicle parts left at the scene, police determined that a black Nissan caused the damage. The damaged vehicle was spotted at the gas station, 7250 Lansdowne Ave. a short time later. Police have identified a Maplewood man as the person driving the damaged Nissan eastbound on Lansdowne from Phil Mart and are seeking him for questioning about this incident. The man has also been connected with damage sustained to a 1998 Chrysler Sebring parked in the 7400 block of Sutherland Avenue.
