Shrewsbury Police Blotter: Passing a Bad Check at Court

Friday, Oct. 28
A woman from South County was arrested on charges of driving while intoxicated on Laclede Station Road near Chatwell Drive after a traffic stop.

Shrewsbury police arrested a South City man for passing a closed account check in the amount of $26.50 to the Shrewsbury Municipal Court. Because the account being closed, this matter is a felony under state law. The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office will review the case.

A resident of the 7700 block of Attingham Avenue notified police that someone removed items from inside her unlocked vehicle (wallet, checkbook, credit cards) overnight and tossed her property on a garden area of the parking lot. All of the items reported missing from the vehicle were recovered in the garden. A second victim reported his MP3 player stolen from his vehicle on the same street.
Police were called to the 7100 block of Weil Avenue to investigate the theft of $80 from a purse inside an apartment. The victim told police she allowed a tall, thin, black male with dreadlocks wearing a black shirt and black jeans to use her phone inside her apartment. The victim told police she used the bathroom while the man was left alone in her apartment. After he left the apartment, she noticed the money was missing. Police searched the area, but could not locate the suspect.
A University City woman was arrested in the 7600 block of Murdoch for driving without a valid license and possession of marijuana. The woman was issued citations to appear in municipal court.
Thursday, Nov. 3
A vehicle parked in the 7700 block of Charing Square sustained damage to the driver side door lock and the DVD and CD player was reported stolen from within. The incident took place sometime overnight.
At 6 p.m. in the 5100 block of St. Charles Place, a resident called police regarding a woman slumped over the steering wheel of her vehicle. Police responded, investigated and arrested a Shrewsbury woman on charges of driving while intoxicated. Her breath sample was measured at 0.16 percent, and she was issued a citation to appear in municipal court.
