Traffic Alert: Valcour Closing at Noon

The Burlington Santa Fe Railroad company will be closing Valcour Avenue just south of Heege Road at noon Tuesday, according to St. Louis County Departments of Highways and Traffic and Public Works Public Information Manager David Wrone.

The railroad needs to extract and replace a section of warped rail either near or at the crossing on Valcour. According to an email Wrone sent to Affton area officials, the railroad hopes to re-open Valcour by the end of the afternoon Wednesday.

Motorists will have to use Laclede Station Road, Heege and Weber to circumvent the closure.
