Video: Want-To-Be Rockers Get Schooled
Rock Show Academy, a new kind of music school, opened its doors on Gravois last week.
Dave Brandt and his wife Kelley have both spent their share of time on stage. Dave also spent several years as a school music teacher, so he knows that children have been losing interest in learning music.
Unlike traditional music schools, the Brandts decided that Rock Show Academy would start backwards, with kids learning songs they know and love first, and moving on to music theory and practice later. Their main goal is for kids to stay engaged and have fun playing.
Rock Show Academy, located at 8809 Gravois Road, offers group rock as well as individual instrument lessons, and also offers classes in other expressive arts, like theatre and improv.
