WGU Missouri Hires New Public Relations Manager

WGU Missouri today announced the appointment of Anesia Estrada, of Affton, to the position of Public Relations Manager. In this role, Estrada will work alongside the Regional Manager of Communications and Outreach, Jessica Denham, and Western Governors University’s national public relations staff to further promote a positive image of the university and increase awareness about its programs.

"Adding Anesia to the WGU Missouri team will help us reach a wider audience within the state to educate the public about the incredible benefits students receive by choosing to earn their degree through WGU Missouri," said Denham. "We have an exceptionally engaged network of students and alumni, and that has contributed to the exponential growth in enrollments, giving us a greater opportunity to share the stories of all who have been positively impacted by WGU Missouri."

Estrada worked for WGU Missouri in enrollment for two and a half years before transitioning to her role as public relations manager. Prior to joining WGU Missouri, she worked for several national youth nonprofit organizations, addressing drug and alcohol prevention, mental health awareness and education. Her public relations background includes serving as the media director for several political campaigns and helping launch several national youth campaigns.

"I am excited to start this new chapter in my career with WGU Missouri," said Estrada. "I look forward to being able to utilize the knowledge I learned within the university's enrollment department to better serve our students and community. I am excited to help further WGU Missouri's mission to expand access to affordable higher education for Missouri residents through online, competency-based programs that address key workforce needs."
