The board also reviewed the district’s academic achievement and financial status, and overall direction of the district to make an informed decision.

Dr. Fregeau values strong community relationships, employee engagement as well as a student- focused approach. Under his leadership, the Decatur School District has implemented a strategic plan, consolidated and improved District Facilities, instituted an employee recognition program, established a Superintendent’s Youth Advisory Council, forged a partnership with Crossings Healthcare to create a mobile health clinic to serve student needs, and established a program that enables students to earn an associate degree from Richland Community College upon graduation from High School.
