Free Air Conditioners Still Available for the Needy

Jefferson County Community Partnership's mission is to seek out collaborations that bring agencies together to help build a better future for the citizens of Jefferson County. It also helps to build partnerships that make a difference in the present as well.

Ameren Missouri and the Jefferson County Health Department have partnered with the JCCP's "Hammers of Hope" program to help people beat the heat this summer. Ameren donated 50 window air condtioners to the Heath Department who in turn will utilize Hammers of Hope volunteers to deliver and set up the units for low income persons and families in need. Persons interested in getting a unit willl need to call in an application and provide proof of income. Once they are approved volunteers will come and install the units.  These are 6,000 BTU units and are good for one room.

There are 33 still units available as well as opportunity to volunteer to be part of the delivery teams. Interested persons should contact Dennis Murphy, Project Coordinator of Hammers of Hope at 636-464-5144 x15 or Chrissy Oberle of the Jeffeson County Health Department at 636-797-3737 x112.
