Cat-and-Dog 'Bromance' Dates Back to Disbanded Animal Shelter

An animal shelter story of star-crossed lovers that were adopted by the Hughey family in Ballwin.

Elvis (a pudgy hound mix) and Otis (a friendly yellow cat) met each other years ago at Mulligan Mutts Animal Rescue attached to Westgate Animal Hospital in Ellisville. When our family of Ballwin, Mo. went to adopt the dog only, these best buddies insisted that they remain together as a pair.

Impressed by the salesmanship of the sly cat, formerly known as Woody, the Hughey family unexpectedly expanded their family by two. Although at least a couple of years have passed since the adoption, the animals remain the best of pals.
