Brookes Bible College Hires Rumyana Hristova as Librarian
The institute is thrilled to have a new knowledgeable, caring individual as part of their staff.
ST. ANN, Mo. – For over 100 years, Brookes Bible College has been serving the metro St. Louis region by providing college-level Christian education. In its continuing effort to improve its faculty and programs, Brookes recently hired Rumyana Hristova as its new librarian.
Hristova joined Brookes Bible College in August 2014. Her duties as the sole librarian at the college include overseeing the overall operation of the library including collection development, information and digital literacy, the library portion of the accreditation process that is currently underway at Brookes, and much more.
Hristova is a native of Sofia, Bulgaria and a graduate of the University of Veliko, Tarnovo with a degree in English. She also obtained a Master’s degree from Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville in American and English Literature and a Master’s degree from the University of Illinois in Library and Information Science.
“We are so excited to have Rumyana on board here at Brookes Bible College,” said Dr. Christopher Stocklin, President of Brookes Bible College. “Her extensive knowledge of the library system, literature, and language, along with her caring demeanor make her an excellent addition to our faculty. We hope to work with her for many years to come!”
Hristova enjoys helping others and making a positive difference in their lives. In the library, she is passionate about connecting people with the resources that best fulfill their needs, and she plays a critical role in guiding others on their quest for knowledge.
The staff and faculty were a big factor that caused Hristova to choose to work at Brookes Bible College. “I wanted the opportunity to work in a team of like-minded people who share the same values, mission, and vision as I do,” she said. “I am learning new things every day here, and all this is very exciting for me!’
Brookes Bible College offers an affordable, two-year associates degree program. Each student gains a greater knowledge of the Bible and is equipped with tools or applying this knowledge through Christian service in all walks of life.
